Silhouette-Lift

With a silhouette lift men and women can have age-related wrinkles at the eyebrows, cheeks, or the neck gently lifted.

Basic preconditions:
	You are over 18 years old, in good physical and psychological condition and have a realistic idea.
	You are not pregnant and not nursing your baby.
	There are no acute or chronic inflammations around the affected area and they are not scarring prone.

Preparations:
	About 2 weeks before the surgery you should not take anticoagulants (Aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid containing drugs).

Length of the treatment:

A silhouette lift is almost pain-free and takes about 45 minutes. It is conducted under regional anaesthesia.

Course of action:

With this very gentle method droopy areas of the facial skin can be lifted again with the help of especially designed synthetic needles. During the treatment tiny sutures are inserted under the skin.

Before the treatment the affected areas are marked on the skin. Then a tiny incision at the scalp, over the temples, or behind the ear is made in order to insert especially designed sutures. It is not necessary to shave the affected areas. With a long and flexible needle two sutures per eyebrow, cheek, or side of the neck are inserted parallel first into the subcutaneous fat tissue and then moved in the direction of the eyebrow, respectively of the facial or neck centre. There the sutures are cut. Under slight tension the sutures are fixed by a hardly perceivable technique to the tissue, this causes the lifting effect. Then, the small incision at the scalp is closed by hardly visible sutures. The affected areas are than bandaged safely with small plasters. After about one year the invisible and unperceivable sutures are strongly fixed to the connective tissue and dissolve slowly.

Effect of the treatment:

First effects of the lifti can be seen right after the treatment. The final fixation of the affected facial area needs about 4 - 8 weeks. During this time a covering of connective tissue is slowly created around the sutures. The duration of the lifting effect depends on the natural process of skin ageing. Usually the lifting effect stays for about 5 years.

Perception and possible complications:

The silhouette lift causes no visible scars. In rare cases it is possible that the sutures, if they have not been cut short enough or not inserted carefully enough, are slightly visible at the point of emersion. Another cut of the sutures under slight tension corrects this irregularity. With a silhouette lift the possibility of shifting sutures is very low compared to other techniques like Aptos. In any case old sutures can be removed again or renewed at any time. Slight asymmetries in the skin due to superfluous skin disappear during the healing process.

After the treatment:

In the first few days after the treatment it is possible that you feel slight pulling pain at the affected areas. Like after every surgery swellings and haematoma can occur, these, however, usually disappear after a few days. It is not necessary to wear a bandage. We recommend not doing any sports during the first 5 days after the treatment. Please avoid too much chewing or massages or any injuries of the affected area, this will influence the effect of the treatment positively.
